PEER SUPPORT
Triad Family & Children's Services peer support specialists assist people with locating resources such as food, rides to appointments and taking care of their business, helping find housing, helping find jobs, running important and needed errands the client does not have the functionality to do, rent payment resources, hospital appointments, and other daily needs. They work with individuals from a peer point of view. They possess observational skills to interpret demeanor and spot signs of distress or crisis. Peer support specialists use their problem solving skills to help clients overcome obstacles to their recovery and stability.

Time Allotted
Depending on the needs of the client in the program receiving services; the client may be allotted up to 7 hours a week.
Partnership
The peer support specialist is in a partnership with the client for the betterment of the clients life, environment, mental health and mindset. All interactions are professional and compliant with program guidelines.

Peer support programs help connect people who are dealing with certain health problems or situations with other trained peers (often called peer supporters) who have dealt with similar challenges. These programs bring together people so they can share experiences and support one another.
